Questions to Ask Before Renting Doosan® Construction Equipment
For many, it makes more sense to rent construction equipment than to buy a machine that you’ll only use once or twice. Not only can it be cheaper, but this way, you won’t have to worry about storage or maintenance, since that generally falls on the designated owner. Doosan equipment in particular can be incredibly helpful for a wide range of projects.
However, it’s not cheap to rent, and sometimes those contracts can be difficult to navigate.
We recommend reading through the contract, but to help you ensure you understand your responsibilities and the responsibilities of the lender, we’ve provided some questions that you should ask before signing any agreements. If you’d like to hear some of our answers to these questions, then stop by Synergy Equipment for a friendly chat with our staff. We proudly serve the states of Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina.
Ask About Money
This one probably didn’t slip your mind, but you might want to throw in some additional questions along with, “How much will this cost?” Ask about rates, additional fees, and billing policies so there are no surprises later down the road and unnecessary frustration. Make sure you know everything you need to know about what sorts of payments they expect from you and what might incur a higher fee.
What To Do If There’s a Performance Problem
Odds are, you’ll need to contact the owner right away, but it’s important to know their exact policy on this. You’ll want to know when the issue is their responsibility and when it’s your responsibility, as well as how quickly they can respond to equipment that isn’t performing properly. You’ll also want to ask about their after hours policy. If you work on the weekends at times when they’re closed, you’ll need to know who to contact if a performance problem occurs. (And it’s probably a good idea to make note of their hours so you know what time frame this information is applicable.)
Pickup and Delivery
This process needs to be very clear as well. How the Doosan equipment gets to your site matters, because it affects whether or not you’ll also need a trailer and strong enough tow vehicle. While there are many rental providers who transport the equipment for you, you don’t want to automatically assume this is always the case.
Ask About the Equipment
This one might seem obvious, but sometimes you can get caught up in logistics and forget about some of the most important parts of this process: the equipment itself! Ask about how the Doosan equipment is maintained and cared for and perform a thorough inspection of the rig. Make note of any damages you spot before you start renting. There are many issues that you can certainly live and work with, but you don’t want to be billed for a scratch or dent that you aren’t responsible for.
You can also ask the renter about other Doosan equipment they offer and what they think will help you the best. Even if they’re not construction workers themselves, they probably interact with the field fairly often and might have some information on which machines are best for certain products.
Speaking of friendly faces you can talk to, you can ask all these questions to our experienced staff here at Synergy Equipment while also checking out our Doosan rentals.
